Giveaway time! I have one copy of Casey Barnes Eponymous by E.A Riggs. I am so excited about this music themed book and decided to share it. E.A Riggs was nice enough to answer a few interview questions for me!

What makes you nerdy? 

I love gnomes.  The first summer my (then boyfriend, now husband) and I were together we rented a beach house in a community where there was an abundance of gnomes (An Abundance of Gnomes should be a band name, btw).  All summer when we went jogging I would fantasize, out loud, about stealing the neighborhood gnomes and arranging them in compromising positions on the beach the morning of July the 4th, the most highly populated beach day of the summer.  My man was not amused.  He bought me a gnome for my birthday, thinking it would cure me of my obsession.  Instead it only made me want more.  We now have six :)

Do you have any other projects in the works?

Yes.  I've just started a book that will be the first in a series of three books. I'm very excited about it.  The plot is a bit more "high-concept" than Casey, but Casey has a better soundtrack!

I live by this quote because one of my four children is different in a very specific way -- one that will demand bravery. (Well, doesn't the world demand bravery from all of us?) And this quote is one that reminds me not only how to parent, but also how to live. Each of us has to embrace who we are and go forth.

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be? I suppose as I head into PURE's publication, I'd like to be bulletproof, in terms of criticism. It's a catch-22 with a lot of authors -- me included -- in that writing is something that sensitive types are often drawn to. We should lay it bare -- be emotionally honest and open -- and then be tough at the same time. I could cut myself off from reading all reviews, but writing is already so solitary that I don't think I could bear it. And so, yes, to be amid the gunfire and yet steeled in Kevlar. That.

Do you have any projects in the works? If so can you tell us about any of them? Fuse is Book II in the Pure Trilogy. It's staring at me at this very moment -- a dark ominous glare. I'm deep into edits and a little terrified.

One book that I am grateful for. (Just one? Really? Fine)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K Rowling:
This is the first book (aside from the many books by Dr. Seuss) that I read. No I didn't start with the first book in the Harry Potter series, I started with this one. This book opened my eye to the possibility of exactly WHAT a book could do for you. It was the door way to so many other books, so I thank it for that.

Author Interview and Giveaway

So with out further ado or rambling let the Interviewing commence! *presses the big red button* Yep I went there.

What was your latest epic win? (a small but meaningful accomplishment like finding a bag of Bertie Bott’s while packing) Epic fail? (basically this is an embarrassing moment that you can laugh about)

I'd say my last epic win was this morning when I thought I was out of coffee sweetener (say it isn't so!) but then I found some vanilla caramel creamer in my fridge. Hollaaaa!

My last epic fail (and there are many) was probably this morning when I accidentally sneezed all over my computer screen. Yuck. *points at self* LOSER.

What are your thoughts on your book being turned into a movie?

Oh, I would love that! I think every author would. In my opinion, the biggest element a movie adds to a story (that you don't necessarily get while reading the written format) is the soundtrack. Music really draws emotion out of people, ya know? So I would love to see Sophie & Carter on the big screen with some great music playing behind them. :)

What is the last book you read?

Born At Midnight, by C.C. Hunter. It was awesome! I totally loved it. And I'm totally Team Lucas.  :)

In three words describe yourself:

Will I ever finish the superhero book series I started writing three years ago?

Chocolate would make me skinny and caffeine would make me rich. :)

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

Haha! Good question! :) Hmm...I would like to have the power to heal. Like Wolverine. I'd never get sick or break an arm or anything. I could be my normal, clumsy self and have no bruises. :) It would be awesome.

If given a time machine would you go back to the past or into the future?

Into the future, no doubt! I totally want to know what kinda crazy things we discover and invent in the next few centuries. And it would be so rad if we could travel to space as tourists someday, ya know? Like taking a bus tour through Rome or something...but instead of a bus, it would be a space shuttle...and instead of Rome, we'd go to the moon. That would be excellent!

Do you have any projects in the works?If so can you tell us about any of them?

Yes! I'm starting a new paranormal series called THE ARCHERS OF AVALON. It's about two brothers in love with the same girl. This girl has been cursed to die, though, so they're on a mission to save her--and, of course, fight over her. :) The first book, ANEW, comes out this December. Whoo-hoo! I can't wait!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss + Giveaway

I always loved reading Dr. Seuss's books! The wonderful pictures, the crazy stories, and interesting names were always such a joy. In my book he was a genius! So today would be his birthday if he were still alive so this post is dedicated to him! Happy Birthday Seuss! 

So as a reader there are books that touch you in a way that you can't describe. They settle in your brain and never leave. These books are the books you are glad you met. The ones that changed your life, that gave you something other then just entertainment (entertaining books will be another post). I have decided I need to share these books with you my followers. 

The List:

Harry Potter- 

No matter how had I try there is no way to not include this series. It was the very first series I read and it placed a deep hook into me which lead me to continue reading.

And because of the dog in the picture below you should read Harry Potter

The Cinderella Society- 

The simple whispers of the book was confidence.I still tell myself 'No wicked chatter' then I laugh.

When I saw this I laughed :D its so wicked 

 This book's message is one that all girls should have access to.

The Miles Between- 

A coincident? I think not! 

I have always been persistent about saying 'I don't believe in coincidences'. This book encounters this exact quote but it presented something new to me. 

Sometimes there is one fair day, where good triumphs over evil and the universe doesn't work against you in fact it works with you . 

The Book Thief- 

Sometimes there is more the past then we can understand.

I am the Messenger- 

Humans no matter how small, make a huge difference. 

I'll Be There- 

This isn't the final cover but I needed something to put here!

Things happen to make us who we are. Sure that means the bad comes with it but sometimes the bad goes away and all the good comes together at once 

The Secret Journal of Brett Colton- 

I now know it's okay to cry because this book. 

Yes weepy weepy weepy me. Before this book I didn't know that a person could be come so attached to a story as to cry because of a plot. 

To Kill A Mockingbird- 

Sometimes people who are nice get bad reps and sometimes good people do bad things for the right reason. 

Also bad people do the wrong thing for the wrong reason but karma catches up with them later.

Speak- 

You have to tell people things if you keep it locked in bad things can happen.

Shock Point-

 I learned that stepfather could be the evil one! And that testing drugs that make kids go suicidal and trying to cover it up by sending your stepdaughter never really works.
