There You'll Find Me by Jenny B. Jones

Description: In a small cottage house in rural Ireland, Finley discovers she can no longer outrun the past.

When Finley travels to Ireland as a foreign exchange student, she hopes to create a new identity and get some answers from the God who took her brother away and seems to have left her high and dry. But from the moment she boards the plane and sits by Beckett Rush, teen star of the hottest vampire flicks, nothing goes according to Finley's plan. When she gets too close to Beckett, a classmate goes on a mission to make sure Finley packs her bags, departs Ireland-and leaves Beckett alone.

Finley feels the pressure all around. As things start to fall apart, she begins to rely on a not-so-healthy method of taking control of her life. Finley tries to balance it all-disasters on the set of Beckett's new movie, the demands of school, and her growing romance with one actor who is not what he seems. Yet Finley is also not who she portrays to Beckett and her friends. For the first time in her life, Finley must get honest with herself to get right with God. (for more info click here)

Epic Wins:
  • Finley- She lived for music, her passion for it thrummed off the pages and strait to my heart. She was warm and mostly honest.
  • Beckett- Charming as he was (and his apparent dashing good looks) that wasn't all he was. He has a huge heart and went out of his way to help others, Finley included.
  • The sarcastic banter between Finley and Beckett was not only hilarious, but it was palpable.
  • Bob- I thins thing for dogs, I just love them! Bob, Beckett's dog, was not exception. He has such a personality he became one of the characters.
  • This might drive some away but not me. This book was a tad bit religious. The whole book revolves around her trying to figure out why God isn't listening to her. If this IS something that would keep you from reading this book I encourage you to rethink things because this book was THAT amazing.
  • Real issues are brought up in this book. Is God actually there? How far can one go before they overcompensate? When does regret and remorse turn one to anger?
  • The O'Callaghan's- They were silly were a very decent family that took Finley in as their own. Erin with her strange medical facts, Liam with his unrelenting humor, Sean making desert and always mention his war days, and finally Nora with her motherly ways. All their personalities wrapped up in a cute little bed and breakfast tucked away in Ireland.
  • Ireland- I love (love. love. love. love x infinity) reading about other countries, seeing it through the characters eyes. This one went deeper then that, the places shinned up at you with so much vivid detail that it's hard not to imagine it.
  • Mrs. Sweeney- An old fire cracker of a woman who showed Finley the importance of letting go. She was the most powerful tool to open Finley's eyes.
  • Messages condensed: God is always there, sometimes people hide behind masks so don't judge the masks people wear, and it's okay to let go.
Overall: A perfect combination of sweet, sarcastic, and realistic. I seriously laughed, cried, and wanted to high-five a few people in the face.

just sayin,
-Kare

  3. I have been staying away from this book for a while because I thought someone said it had religious parts to the book and I really don't like religion in books. It does sound a bit different than what I was lead to believe so I might have to give it a try.

    Thanks for the great review.
