August Was Abducted

So about a month ago I made a long list of books I needed/wanted to read by the end of August. It looked like this:
  • Dante's Girl by Courtney Cole
  • Saving June by Hannah Harrington
  • Beautiful Lies by Jessica Warman
  • Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo (currently reading this one and it's ... interesting)
  • Fathomeless by Jackson Pearce (funny tidbit blogger doesn't recognize Fathomless as a word. It's suggestion? Fat homeless)
  • The Fairytale Keeper: Avenging the Queen by Andrea Cealo
  • Of Posidon by Anna Banks
  • Poltergeeks by Sean Cummings
  • A Midsummer's Nightmare by Kody Keplinger
  • The Assassin's Curse by Cassandra Rose Clarke
  • Struck by Jennifer Bosworth
  • Blackwood by Gwenda Bond
  • The Ghost and The Goth by Stacey Kade
  • Confessions of the Sullivan Sisters by Natalie Standiford
  • Fat Cat Robin Brande
  • Queen of the Dead by Stacey Kade
  • Girl at Sea by Maureen Johnson

It was lofty and mostly unrealistic but I made it anyway. I didn't read much because I fell into a book coma (aka: Book Hangover). I can't read!! It's like my worst nightmare come to life and it's still going on!!
Sidetrack... my worst nightmare isn't this:

It's not even this:

This is my nightmare

* commence self-destruct sequence*

What I read this month:
  • Dante's Girl by Courtney Cole
  • Fathomless by Jackson Pearce
  • The Ghost and the Goth by Stacey Kade
  • Confessions of the Sullivan Sisters by Natalie Standiford

Back to the Land-O-Potatoes I go!!

1. Don't know if you noticed but I changed my design!! I love the fun colors and the simplicity of the title. What do you think?
2. I go back to school TODAY!! That break went way too quick. Time to hit the books again (and not the fun ones either). Which means... I'm going to MIA for a while. I might post a review every once in a while but really don't expect too much from me. I'm hoping Dallin will step in *nudge nudge* and provide reviews and a few Daily Doses.
3. I love you guys. You few but faithful!! :)

July Has Left the Building

Read this Month:

  • Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne
  • Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier (I want you to know this book blew my mind. That is all.)

Reviewed this Month:

Now this is a huge list but I have nothing but lazy reading time so my hopes for finishing most of these are high. I'm trying to play catch up right now while I am home and have time so we will see how this goes. :)

First- Since I have quite a bit of time on my hands I am also writing up a bunch of backed up reviews. Seriously these reviews are from like a year ago. Just know that as I am typing them I am mentally editing them (it's amazing how much one's writing style changes over the course of a year). You have been warned, it's not my best stuff. Apparently I write more on my reviews now.

Second- I know a while ago (like four months ago) I said that Dallin would be joining my little party. He is but he has been backed up with school and avoiding the long list of reviews he has to type up. HOWEVER: He is starting to post. He will be doing a few flash reviews to get warmed up and then head into the real stuff. (Authors/Publishers: If he has accepted a request from you he will get it up eventually he's just kind of slow.)

May Be Long Gone

Yes the title is pun. I know it's almost July but I needed to do something for June if only to use that awesome graphic *points up*

Books I read in May:
  • Between Shades of Gray (even though it's one of the only books on my list for this month know that it is one of the best books I have read in a while) (also note that I had to finish it on a public bus, tears and all)
  • The Hobbit (for class- doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it)
Books Reviewed in May:

Books I want to read in June: Uh well since it's almost over *shuffles feet awkwardly* I'll just list the one I am reading now.

The Land of Potatoes:

(coincidentally this is what I had for lunch today :)

Well I have managed to squeeze a few extra hours out of my week and might possible be able to continue blogging. *throws confetti*

When you were young.

I went to see this beauty *points down* which is exceptional in every way and I highly recommend it. Also: There was a short before it about this little kid and the moon and stars and it was just too cute. Too cute I say!!

My awesome roommates are currently having a Lord of the Rings marathon at the moment so I must go.

  • The Night She disappeared by April Henry
  • The Day Before by Lisa Schroeder

Books Reviewed in April:
Land of Potatoes:

So I've been going crazy trying to adjust to my schedule and, you know, homework and as you can tell I'm not really reading all that much. HOWEVER I have two things going for me A) I am in the middle of like three books right now (The Hobbit for one of my classes, SocialPunk, and Revive) plus all the stupid textbooks I have to read so it's not like I am sitting doing nothing and B) I've brought Dallin in to blog with me. No idea if he'll actually do anything but hey he's here so I can't complain.

Dallin's Rebuttal:

For those of you wondering I am having a blast at school so far. This is so where I need to be and I'm pretty sure I'm learning stuff that is going to help me through out my life. For those of you not wondering well here is a some funny stuff to look at:

March shipped to Timbuktu

Books I Read in March:
  1. I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga
  2. Invincible by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  3. The Snowball Effect by Holly Nicole Hoxter
  4. A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
  5. Babe in Boyland by Jody Gehrman
  6. Transcendent: Tales of the Paranormal
  7. The Agency by Y.S. Lee
  8. Casey Barnes Eponymous by E.A. Riggs
  9. The Summer My Life Began by Shannon Greenland
Books Reviewed in March:
  1. There You'll Find Me by Jenny B. Jones (CCC)
  2. Rock On by Dense Vega  (CCC, SA)
  3. Where it Began by Ann Redisch Stampler (CCC, SA)
  4. Pretty Crooked by Elise Ludwig (CCC)
  5. Forbidden Mind by Kimberly Kinrade
  6. Breath of Eyre by Eve Marie Mont

While March is heading off to Timbuktu I will be heading off to the land of potatoes (aka Idaho). Last October I applied and got into Brigham Young University- Idaho (there are two others so yes I had to specify).

I will be packing up and moving to Idaho (yes I know just over a year ago I made this post) and starting school there. I am so excited to get started, because believe it or not a year and half of doing nothing gets old (when I say nothing I mean school wise... because come on I did read 100 books last year). Plus I am working towards an English degree with an emphasis in creative writing which makes it that much more exciting!

What does this mean for my blog? At the moment absolutely nothing (besides the fact that I'll be posting from the other side of the country). This blog has been my life over the past year and a half and there is no way I will let it slip out of my hands. I, Kare, promise to keep this blog up as long as A) My grades don't suffer and B) My health isn't at stake. I'm fairly sure I will be able to keep it up, if I manage my time well anyways. That being said if I can't keep it up I'm sorry BUT I will return. I will always return! I will return from the land of potatoes? Sound like I'm going on a quest or on an adventure.

So I am sort of opening a new chapter of my life here so I thought a new blog design would be appropriate. It'll take a while to get the design up and tweak it. But yes it will be changing and I am so excited about the new look, can't wait to see what you think of it!! (and the rambling stops now) :D

February Wrapped In A Bow

http://donttbotherme.tumblr.com/post/18582140321
Adios February. After January's success of eleven books February looks sad....

Books Read In February:
  1. Freshman Year and Other Unnatural Disasters
  2. I Heart You, You Haunt Me
  3. Avalon High (audio)
  4. Pure
  5. Pretty Crooked
  6. Lock and Key (audio)
Reviews for February:
  1. If I Tell by Janet Gurtler (CCC and SARC)
  2. The Girls of No Return by Erin Saldin (CCC and SARC)
  3. Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt
  4. Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley (CCC and SARC)
  5. Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler (CCC and SARC)
Thank goodness for audio books! They made the number of books I read this month far less pathetic than it could have been. For March I'm setting a goal of eight, which I find very reasonable. Happy reading!
