Like it?

I just got a hair cut (the first one in like a year!) You know that feeling after a good hair cut? It feels different but in a good way? Well thats how I'm feeling about my new blog design. I absolutely love it. Do you know what I mean? Hmmm...

Anyway I have run into a sort of stumbling block on my reading  path. I think some book along the way totally messed up my mind or something because I am just reading because I know I have to, which sucks! So I have a couple reviews saved up and (no I refuse to give up on my beautiful blog!) I will keep posting the reviews I have left. Eventually I will get back into the reading spirit but for now you can eat the ones I provide.

Do you ever feel like you have read too much? Or maybe a book hit you square in the face and knocked you out for a while and you can't get back up? Or maybe you have too many good looking books to choose from? Needless to say a bookfart/slipping into a book a coma/whatever-the-heck-you-call-it stinks. What DO you call it? Discuss it in the comments!

Do you ever feel like nobody gets it!?

Do you ever feel like nobody gets it!?

I love books, with a fierce passion (as most of you do!). The problem is outside of the blogger world very few people hold interest in the subject of books. When I read a book, I want to tell people about it, you know shout it to the world that this book was the most amazing thing you will ever read!!!!( I'll add some extra exclamation marks for ya) !!!!!!!!!!!! For example I try to explain a book to my mom and you can tell she loses interest in what I am saying or I will tell my dad about how I want to get this book or this one and he tunes me out.

I do however feel blessed to have a book lover like me in my family. My little brother, he and I are like mental twins. I can gush about why I loved the Iron king or Hush, Hush and he can say how awesome he thought the Harry Potter series was. This wasn't always the case though. There was point, and I was watching for it, when books clicked for him. I mean sure he read a book every once in a while but only when he HAD to. Something happened this year though, he tasted books and formed an addiction. An addiction that I helped along.

So when he only read a book once in a while , what was I to do? Keep the beautiful knowledge of these amazing books to myself? Nay, nay! I started this blog to show people who cared what I think about the books I read. I still feel frustrated that I can't talk to anybody about books but blogging takes the edge off the frustration. There is a problem with blogging though, my parents can't stand  that I am either reading, writing on the blog, or searching for books. They call me a nerd (which is understandable, I embrace the nerdiness) but it just hurts that nobody understands what I do. I just wish they could say "I'm glad you found something you are passionate about and I'm proud that you are sticking to it". Alas, no, the reply is more like "Oh your blogging again" in a smarmy voice.
Does anybody else feel this frustration? From parents, siblings, friends, or anybody? I do love blogging and I will never give it up (not till they pry the books from cold dead hands!!)... but I hate that nobody appreciates it. :(

Sorry for the rant and if you hung out to read it through I just want to say I love ya! (like one would love a pet dog not ) What are bloggers if they don't rant every once in a while?

Curse you mocking mail trucks! and delays...and some more cursing (not like cussing but the magical spell type!)

Today... I kid you not I saw five mail trucks (FIVE!!!!) and every time I was like ew maybe I got something in the mail but as it turns out I GOT NOTHING!!! Well so far this week...I just wanted to let you know mail trucks are evil... and tricky!! URG! I just hope your mailboxes are over flowing with goodies :D

So I told you I had book coma before and I did but now I am just reading slowly for some unknown reason. Its really frustrating to have a shelf of wonderful books and have no want to read them :(. (Stupid overly good books that knock my reading grove off!!! Curse you HEX HALL!!!).

...SO  to entertain you I am going to review books I read before starting this blog.

I am currently reading City of Bones (finally) and I'm really into so there is hope for me!!

**This blog is dedicated to exclamation marks and parenthesis! If you couldn't tell!!!!**

just sayin (alot!),

Inspiration, giveaway, and why the heck I happen to be slacking!

Okay so I've been a speed-demon reader since at least kindergarten. I was scared (like pee-your-pants-in-a-weird-little-kid-way) to go to kindergarten because my brother said you have to read alot. I didn't know how to read so thus I was TERRIFIED! Turns out I was like in an advance reading program and like five steps ahead of the other kids in my grade (I was so cool as a little kid)! So my love for reading just blossomed with my skills ( killer reading skills! I was reading ninja!). I guess what inspired me to read new stuff was my eighth grade SCIENCE teacher!? Sound weird but she always gave me new books to read and asked me what I thought about them. I actually talked with her this past year ( my little bro has her now) and she always thought I would be a good book editor. So here is to Mrs. Kwant Thanks!

So ya'll should check out this contest because it helps support literacy and you could get two prizes! read all about it here!

UPDATE...
In other news I haven't sent out a review for awhile because I have been playing babysitter big sister. I have finished Hex hall and have written my review its just the matter of getting it typed now. Up next (my pictures on the side lie as of now I have been wishy wash trying to settle into a new book I've seriously changed 10 times!) is City of Bones! :)

just saying,
