Armchair Bea: A blog post about blogging

I was going with a hammock for the whole armchair thing but I found this instead :P

So Today is about blogging because of the blogger convention. I decided to go with this question:

Not really but its a deep question eh?

How do you keep your blog fresh and interesting to your readers and yourself?

No offence readers but I don't DO this for you. I do this for me. Its a way for me to let out my creativity and share what I have read. I know, selfish right? *shake head at self in mock disappointment* But really, your blog has to be you, so writing it to keep it 'fresh' for your 'readers' doesn't make sense. I write silly reviews, use bad jokes, and make up words occasionally. Thats not for your benefit, believe me, its just my mind throwing up on the post.

Sometimes I shake my head at how goofy I am, but then I remember that of course I am goofy. That's WHO I am. If my blog doesn't show that then it isn't mine. Why would I want some serious book reviewer running MY blog when I am a GOOFY book blogger. No I don't go into the technical side of writing, examining the flaws the writing has. I look at how it made me FEEL. What I liked, what was weird to me. My reviews are strictly my thoughts about the book. How can you make that fresh?

I will mention that I have had so much fun writing these little posts and adding random pictures to them . That might just stay. The pictures that is.

So Keep it fresh everyone!!

Armchair Bea: Words can't describe... but epic and awesome come VERY close

I have met many people I now call friends from blogger chats and twitter , but today is about Brielle. Brielle is pretty much the coolest person.

She runs Awesome Bookworm. I have known her for a while but it wasn't till recent the I found out the true and full power of awesome she held. Of course when someone put 'I like British accents' on there about me spot, they are a shoe-in for epic.

Things that remind me of Brielle:

Unicorns

Ninjas

Nerds

Books

Between by Jessica Warman

Description:

Lizabeth Valchar --- pretty, popular and rich --- wakes up the morning after her 18th birthday on the yacht where she’d been celebrating with her closest friends. A persistent thumping noise has roused her. When she goes to investigate, she finds her own drowned body is hitting the side of the boat. Liz is dead. She has no memory of what happened to her, and can only observe in horror the fallout of her death.

She’s also soon joined by Alex Berg, a quiet boy from her high school who was killed by a hit-and-run driver. The two keep each other company, floating in and out of memories and trying to piece together the details of what happened to each of them.

In her regular life, Liz was a runner. It wasn’t abnormal for her to run 8-10 miles per day. But as memories from closer to her death begin to surface, Liz finds that she’d been running much more than normal, and that she’d all but stopped eating. Liz’s mother, who died when Liz was nine, had battled with anorexia as well, and those around her worried that Liz was following in her mother’s footsteps. But something more sinister was consuming Liz from the inside out...

Epic Wins:
  • Liz- Blonde, Rich, and Pretty. Typically these types of characters aren't my favorites, at all. Liz is different though she isn't as stereotypical. Her passion and stress reducer is running. Passion is something I get.
  • Alex- Sarcastic, Poor, and dead. Murdered by a cruel twist of fate. I think I related to him the most (and not because he is dead ;)He was really down to earth.
  • Richie- He was sweet. A good boyfriend.
  • Caroline- Despite some things she is not a bad character. She is the only one of Liz’s friends who visits her grave.
  • The twists and turns are just that. MIND. BLOWN.
  • The way that you see the aftermath of Liz’s death and still get the glimpses that were her life. Her memories.
  • The battle at the end of Liz’s life, though unhealthy and dangerous it showed she had a conscious, she wasn't heartless.
  • The constant mystery, racking your brain for why and who.
  • Mr. Riley- Her running coach. He is pretty much like a father, one who would tell her no.
  • Liz’s father was a good guy but some choices he made didn't make sense. None the less I like his last stand.

Epic Fails:
  • Vince…DON’T. EVEN.GET.ME.STARTED.
  • Josie- Liz would do anything for this best friend turned step-sister, but she gives me the creeps.
  • Josie’s Mom- She tore Liz’s family a part and was okay with that. That is something I am not okay with.

Overall:

Absolutely amazing! I love the way the present unrolls and the past was presented. Such a good book.

Armchair Bea: Beep! Beep! Beep! Amazing Bloggers Coming Through!!

So bloggers are epic among other things like robots and unicorns and ninjas. Some of my favorite bloggers are too epic for the word epic. Here is a list (because I LOVE lists):

Brielle from Awesome Bookworm:

Hmmm. Have you seen the letters she has sent me? No? Go here and here!! She is incredibly funny and creative. One of my best friends.

She is so sweet and her reviews are always honest and to the point. Also a VERY good friend.

Melissa from I Swim for Oceans:

Any books she mentions or reviews ALWAYS ends up on my TBR list. Also she has this thing called Friday Fix where she asks bloggers these epic questions. LOVE IT!!

Patrick from IRandomBlogger:

Blogger Dude!! And he is funny...notice a pattern yet? I like funny! But seriously this kid is awesome and random!!

First she is British, which really has no impact on whether she is a good blogger but I love listening to her IMMs. Also she always has unique books reviewed. She has a cool vocabulary too, which makes reading her reviews and such fun!

Please check out there blogs, or the evil robots and wifi-stealing anti-ninjas (pirates) will get ya!!
